This has been something that's been on my mind for a while. Being idols there's always one commodity that we never really get enough of. Time. Whether its time for rest, to see our family and friends, or even to spend with a significant other there is just never enough time in the day for it all. So my question is, if you had extra time how would you spend it? I'm not too sure how I would use it myself to be honest.
When you're just messing around on the internet, you find interesting quotes or stories. I usually find a lot of quotes and post them on Twitter
, but this time, I found these little stories that I found really interesting, so I thought I'd share both of them.
““I hope we last. I hope we do.( And another )
But if we don’t, this is how I want you to remember me:
I want you to remember me curled up, listening to the sound of your heartbeat and tracing maps across your skin. Remember me laughing at your jokes, even the stupid ones. Remember me in hysterics for absolutely no reason and in tears because one time you made me so sad neither of us thought I’d recover. Remember me brave, that time you held my hand and I thought I was going to die; remember me scared and gentle and delicate and breakable - only for you though, only for you.
Remember me happy, and all the ridiculous ways I tried to get your attention. Remember the way I was too stubborn to talk to you and how absolutely insane it drove the both of us. Remember all the firsts and how they were so delightful we went back for seconds and thirds and fourths. Remember the songs you couldn’t stop listening to and the childish dreams you allowed yourself about the future. If it’s any consolation I allowed myself to have them too.
If it comes to it I don’t want you to remember the ending.
Remember the beginning. Remember the first time you knew. ”
Show me the last thing you found on the internet that you thought was interesting.
Also, back from hiatus.
ah, 'mask' has finally come to an end~ it's been great, and though i said this on twitter, i wanna say it again and that's a huge thank you to everyone who gave the drama and i support!! i always appreciate it, and i'll continue working harder to show you a cool, awesome guy~ ㅋ (a cool cat, meow???? ㅋㅋㅋ)
but that leads me in to something i found as i was resting the other day, because i'm sure a lot of you are like me and when you're bored, you go to places on the internet you probably shouldn't, right? ㅋㅋ ah, well. curiosity and all~ i wound up in a place where i could see some... not so supportive messages about my acting ㅋㅋㅋㅋ it was a little bit mixed, how i felt about it!!
at first, i thought "ah, i haven't been working hard enough, or trying my best," and then, i thought about it some more and... that's wrong. i've done all of those things, and i'll continue doing them, but seeing the critiques... i think i know now what i missed in doing all of that, and next time i can improve myself even more.
i suppose it's like kanye hyungnim said, right? ㅋㅋ so even though i felt a little bad seeing all of that, in the end i'm glad i did... because now i'm more aware and can fix those things, as well as whatever else i need to work harder on, for myself. ^^
ah, i guess my question on all of this is, have you ever found things like that, and how did you feel about them?
I have to admit, I come across a lot of favorites when I'm catching up on dramas. I'm not the kind of person to skip the commercial breaks in case a silly commercial comes on (and some of them can pull off emotional stories!).
Usually, it's the drama commercials that I gravitate towards but today I couldn't help myself. I fell in love with Sailor Cup Noodle
. So I have to ask―has an advertisement come out recently that caught your attention?
I was just scrolling through my phone one day when this picture
popped up, and underneath it was the following quote:The thing about this is that sculptures like these in art history were for the male gaze. Photoshop a phone to it and suddenly she’s seen as vain and conceited. That’s why I’m 100% for selfie culture because apparently men can gawk at women but when we realize how beautiful we are we’re suddenly full of ourselves…
Following that quote was this one:
“You painted a naked woman because you enjoyed looking at her, put a mirror in her hand and you called the painting “Vanity,” thus morally condemning the woman whose nakedness you had depicted for you own pleasure.” ― John Berger, Ways of Seeing
It struck me then how often I hear people--mostly adults, and mostly older men, to be completely forthright--often giving people (mostly young women) a rough time for taking selfies. Our generation is consistently dubbed the "vain" or "selfish" generation, and in that conversation, the topic of selcas almost always crops up.
I'm a pretty vehement supporter of selcas, and despite what you may think, it isn't singularly because I think I'm really, really, ridiculously good looking ㅋㅋㅋㅋ but it's more that I find that if there's any capacity to which young people are encouraged to love themselves rather than feel insecurity or shame, it's valuable. Selcas do that: They allow young people--and more specifically, young women--to say, "Hey, I look awesome today, I feel good about myself"--as a social norm. That's really important.
What are your thoughts?
Hello, everyone. I've two things for you.
I've lost touch with some people I used to talk to, and got a bit busy with filming for a drama.Midnight Diner
. I hope everyone can get a chance to watch it if they can.
When you start to get busy and stressful, sometimes you become a bit sensitive and what not.
But, I've had this specific problem for a while, whether or not I've been stressed.
What are your tips on how to keep yourself calm and not lose patience ?
My patience runs out so fast, and I get annoyed really easily. Last year or so, I tried to grow my hair out to test my patience, and I managed to get it down to my neck. But now I need to figure out another way to not lose patience so fast.
Any tips ?
As most of you know, CLC debuted a couple of months ago and it felt so surreal! I was super nervous about debuting and the whole time my stomach was in knots! How did you all feel about debuting? Where you calm? Nervous? Excited? I've had the chance to watch some of your debut stages but I would love to see them again! Leave a link of your debut performances below! I'll even show you mine! Here you go! I hope you all like it!
On the brink of our second world tour, I've been thinking a lot about what went well and what didn't for the last one. In retrospect and thinking holistically, I feel that we did well, but there was an extra element missing for some of the shows that for a while, I couldn't quite place. I monitored every performance, as per usual, and eventually it hit me: We weren't nervous. We felt so comfortable on stage in moments that honestly, we shouldn't have ㅋㅋ I mean, when you're performing in an arena with thousands of people in a country you've never been to, surely you should feel nervous, right? But it didn't feel like that type of energy was there.
That might seem backwards to a lot of you, but I truly feel that nerves are such an essential part of a good performance. It feels more authentic, that way. Sincere, I suppose.
Now I don't mean to sound vain in the slightest, but I believe that the success of my performances for 27 was so much higher than Another Me is attributed to the fact that I was nervous as hell ㅋㅋㅋ Terrified, even. Riding the coattails of a pretty embarrassing flop, I had a lot at stake. But I think those nerves and that stage fright contributed to performances that were just flat-out better.
What're your thoughts? For the more seasoned performers: Do you still get nervous on stage? And for those who are fresher meat: Do you think your nerves create better performances, or do you hope for them to subside?
I'd like to hear.
i was almost too late for this, wasn't i? ㅋㅋ ah, i've been busy as usual, but today i got to come home a little early from filming, and dongwoo hyung and i (and sunggyu hyung too, just so he's not chopped liver!!) took the pottermore quiz to see what house we'd be in. i got slytherin, which i'm happy with... but hyung didn't do so well. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ it was pretty funny, but he found a site with all the pottermore questions and got a much better result~~
so here's my question... thing. i dunno if you could really call it a question.. ㅋㅋ take the quiz
and tell me what you get, i'm curious!! do you think your result fits you?
i think mine fits me pretty well, i'm sneaky when i wanna be... and definitely ambitious. ㅋ we all kind of have to be to get where we are, right? ㅋㅋ anyway, hoya out! gotta get back down to the dungeons and work on my potions assignment~
